Exploratory Paper: The Royal High School

January and the Christmas break involved the exploration into one facet of our emerging proposals, or research questions. For me, the fascinating history of Thomas Hamilton’s Royal High School almost acts as an analogue for the general themes the project is investigating: the varying narratives of heritage that are used to construct different identities, and how architecture itself is utilised as a communicator to achieve this.

The paper was given as a presentation with the accompanying imagery, and over the course of several days we explored a facet of the nature of many of our projects. A link to my own eventual paper can be found below.
